Be The Next HIP Photographer 2015

This summer be part of our one-week photography contest and compete to become the next HIP Hotels Photographer.

HOW?

Go to bethenext.hiphotels.com, select the images that best represent your photography style and submit them via our online form, including all details required.

WHAT?

10 promising photographers will be selected for each of the three chosen cities by our judges to undertake an amazing photo-shooting week, shooting 20 awesome hotels in either London, Paris or New York.

You’ll just have to think about the flight; we’ll take care of your stay (accommodation, food and local transport).

At the end of the photo shoot of all three cities, the most talented photographers will be selected by our judges to win a Photography Bootcamp with our founder, the award-winning photographer Herbert Ypma. And at the end of it, the most gifted ones may also have the chance to receive a job opportunity as a HIP Hotels Photographer.

WHERE?

London, Paris and New York. WHEN?

The Paris photo shoot will be held during the first week of August 2015. As soon as a date is chosen for London and New York, the photographers selected to participate in the contest for these two cities will be informed.

You don’t need to be a professional photographer to participate and you can come from all over the world.

ULI Northwest Photo Contest 2015

As urban populations evolve, questions of access become critical to everyone. Mobility, affordability, technological bandwidth and natural resource capacity are just some of the main issues facing the public realm. At the core are profound and daunting questions about cities … for whom and for what is a city, and how do we get there sustainably?

You are invited to address these concepts through a photo essay consisting of (2) to (4) images and a written statement of up to (300) words. The photo essay should aim to address the theme while answering the following question:

Question:
What critical issues of access face our urban communities, and how are cities and neighborhoods overcoming challenges of access in creative ways?
Eligibility: Open to all photographers, worldwide, 18+

Entry Fee: Free

Prizes:

  1. One first-place winner will receive a cash prize of USD $500.
  2. One second-place winner will receive a cash prize of USD $250.
  3. One third-place winner will receive a cash prize of USD $100.
The winners will be announced at the ULI Northwest YLG Conference in Seattle, Washington on July 24, 2015.

Image requirements: at least 2MB and no larger than 3MB in JPEG format. Images should be in the RGB color model and a minimum of 300 dpi (8’’ X 10’’).

Copyright: At no stage of this competition, or subsequent to it, shall (ULI Northwest), or any of the competition sponsors, lay any claim whatsoever to the ownership of copyright or other intellectual property rights in the images entered into the competition, except as otherwise expressly provided herein . Where images are used, other than in the usage agreement in the conditions of entry, (ULI Northwest) will print a credit to the photographer.

Embracing Our Differences Photography Award 2015

Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without uttering a single word, artists can enlighten, educate and effect change around the world. Embracing Our Differences invites you to participate in creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Become a part of this exciting change through your visual art submission to the annual Embracing Our Differences juried competition.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Who may enter?

Artists, professionals, amateurs, students – everyone can participate. National and international submissions are welcome.

2. What is the theme?

Final selections will be chosen based on artistic excellence and originality in reflection of our theme “enriching lives through diversity.” This may include, by way of suggestion only, any one or more of the following: appearance, racial differences, physical or mental impairment, language, religious or cultural differences, environmental stewardship, social economic status, sexual orientation or identity, positive attitude, inclusiveness, self-acceptance, taunting and bullying, confrontation, human rights and equality, understanding and kindness, empowerment or any other topic which you believe furthers the theme of “enriching lives through diversity.” DO NOT FEEL LIMITED BY THESE SUGGESTIONS - BE CREATIVE. We strongly encourage new and fresh interpretations of our theme.

3. What are the cash awards?

A total of $3,000 (US) will be presented in the form of three separate awards - $1,000 each for “Best-in-Show Adult;” “Best-in-Show Student;” and the “People’s Choice.” Both “Best-in-Show” awards will be granted by a three-judge panel of art professionals. The “People’s Choice” award will be determined by visitors to the exhibits.

4. What are the selecton criteria?

All submissions must be an original concept and execution and not a copy or reproduction of the work of another. Final selections for inclusion in the exhibit will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals based on artistic excellence and originality in reflection of our theme “enriching lives through diversity.” Judges will also consider:

* How effective the art will read when enlarged to billboard size (16 feet (4.9 m) wide by 12.5 feet (3.8 m) high) and displayed outdoors.

* Is the theme clear and easily understood?

* Does the art explore the theme in an unusual or previously unexplored manner?

* Will the art and its message prompt discussion?

The IMS Photo Contest 2015

The motto of 2015 is “Mountain.Faces”

Mountains all over the world are telling stories about climbers, conquering steep walls, alpinists undergoing harsh conditions, mountain people living between brusque rock formations, fighting on daily base against mother nature’s forces and animals adopting to almost unreal situations. Not only faces of mountaineers, climbers and mountain people, affected by pain and exhaustion for the “summit victory”, tell stories about mountains, but also tears of joy when reaching the top.

The IMS Photo Contest 2015 with the motto “Mountain.Faces” aims to get pictures, representing individual perspectives of the mountain, with all its facets and his conquerors and inhabitants. Show us with your picture, the mountain faces, no matter if they are made of rocks, made of flesh and blood or of fur. At the end all what counts is the uniqueness of the moment, captured for the eternity.

Love Captured, eHarmony UK 2015
